‘The sweetest things in life are blissfully baked with love…’
I love baking and have a cake company Sweet Bliss Bakes. I spend my days baking and decorating bespoke cakes for weddings and other occasions. I believe in using good quality, fresh, organic and local ingredients where possible and grow some of my own too.
Afternoon tea is a perfect way to share my love of baking – it can be anything from a gathering of a few close friends round a roaring fire on a cold, winter afternoon to a relaxed party in the garden on a summer afternoon.
I also love collecting vintage china and making accessories for the home so along with my favourite recipes you will find some pictures and ideas I’ve used to make afternoon tea parties pretty and fun!
I’ve always had an interest in food and nutrition and have a degree in Health and two diplomas in Nutrition. I have taken courses in Advanced Royal Icing, Sugar Paste Decorating and Running a Cake Business with Dawn Pennington and courses in making Sugar Flowers with Lesley Rathbone – both are at Pennington’s School of Cake Artistry. I have also taken courses in Patisserie.
I’ve had recipes published in BodyFit magazine and tea party pictures and ideas published in Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding magazine. I’ve also had two of my cake recipes printed in an Australian recipe book.
